Learn to swing like Tiger

They say that our children are the future, and Whitefield Golf Club boasts a thriving Junior Section with its own Captain.

In addition to special events, tournaments and competitions, juniors have the
opportunity to take part in the Young Masters Golf (YMG) programme, an innovative, nationally recognised PGA tuition course with NSPCC approved coaches.

It gives budding young Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcias an excellent start in
golf – and it’s also good fun!

Under the leadership of Whitefield Golf Club’s PGA trainee Nick Holmes, this unique programme offers boys and girls between
the ages of six and 16 years the most comprehensive introduction the game has ever seen.

YMG is open to children of both members and non-members of the club. This is how it works:

  • Once you've signed up, you'll receive your YMG course folder, along with your unique membership number.
  • Your golfing ability will be assessed to help determine the level of course at which you’ll join the programme.
  • The first YMG instruction is the Cadets course which runs for eight sessions of one hour.
  • Each subsequent level also comprises eight sessions of one hour
  • There are currently five levels of achievement - Cadets, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Masters levels.
  • During each course and level you will be set seven different challenges.
  • Pass five challenges on each level and you will be able to move to the next stage.
  • On completion of the programme you will receive certificates of your achievements.

Anyone interested in joining YMG or want to know more about it should call or contact the pro shop at Whitefield Golf Club
